The Leadership Hub was previously known as the Excellence in Leadership, Management and Governance (ELMAG) portal. The portal was commissioned by The Education and Training Foundation in response to requests made by representatives from the sector. The portal aims to support the development needs of leaders, managers and those involved in governance across the Education and Training sector. The portal gathers both formal and informal opportunities for leadership, management and governance development in one place, including peer support, structured programmes, resources and assessment tools.
The portal includes information about development opportunities for leaders, aspiring leaders, managers and those involved in governance across the sector and many of the features do not require you to register an account on the portal to start using it. Some features will require you to log-in, for example where you will be networking with your peers or entering information of a personal nature. The portal offers peer support opportunities through the Network section which supports mentoring, coaching and peer-to-peer support, as well as discussions between leaders through the forum facilities which:
- enable leaders, managers and those involved in governance from the education and training sector to share expertise and support each other through mentoring and online conversations.
- engage leaders in the development of system leadership across the sector by establishing ways in which peer support can be encouraged and facilitated.
- provide a mechanism for leaders, managers and those involved in governance from across the sector, to be able to search the register and match themselves with potential mentors with appropriate experience and working in particular leadership contexts.
- provide opportunities for leaders, managers and those involved in governance to offer support to others.
The project was developed with the sector on behalf of the Education and Training Foundation by the UCL Institute of Education, University of London working in partnership with Tintisha Technologies.
